Description

As a Game Explorer on the Product & Market Insights team, you will take on a meaningful role in gathering experiential gameplay data. This data helps reveal how competitor games work. You will engage with several applications and games every day, crafting new gameplay benchmark data that enables subsequent analysis and insights. This will entail playing many hours of many different games every day, using several varied methods, recording detailed playthrough data, and sharing these results with your team. The successful candidate enjoys playing games in depth and uses various approaches to find out how and why they work. They are extremely organised, thorough, and able to realistically simulate different styles of play, often spanning multiple apps and multiple parallel learning objectives. The ideal candidate is eager to build ground-level games industry expertise and help ship new hit products.

Responsibilities
  • Play a wide variety of F2P mobile apps and Slots games every day
  • Collect hyper-detailed gameplay data about level progression, resource types & costs, live ops events, sales & CRM offer details, marketing messages, and more
  • Change gameplay behaviour according to defined playthrough scripts
  • Monitor key competitor apps for a variety of changes, tracking over time
  • Explain your data to other Game Explorers, Data Science, and Insights Analysts
  • Contribute to a library of custom player profiles that simulate realistic behaviours
  • Assist team lead designing project approaches to meet data collection objectives
Requirements
  • Experience as a QA Tester, Game Tester, or similar role (preferred)
  • Strong data entry and basic formula skills in Google Sheets or Excel (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to repeatedly collect high-quality, high-precision data (required)
  • Ability to design new projects to satisfy learning objectives with minimal guidance (required)
  • Working proficiency in English language (required)
