- Develop and update character animations and FX animations for video-based gaming projects.
- Collaborate with game designers, the Art Director, Lead Artist, and production team members to understand needs, review scripts, develop storyboards, and build and edit animations.
- Focus on content implementation pipeline.
- Take feedback into account and modify animations to align with game themes.
- Use creativity and artistic techniques to visually narrate game features or provide information.
- Ensure relevant processes regarding asset management, file organization, and output configuration are clearly and accurately performed.
- Schedule and manage time efficiently, working with agile development leaders to plan work.
- Deliver assets on time to specification with thorough attention to detail.
- Conduct peer reviews to check work for accuracy and quality.
- Document game development processes as needed.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams to achieve the highest quality games possible.
- Follow guidelines set by BLS management to manage and develop art animations/assets to support the business.
- Bring in ideas and innovations to improve the overall game's art development in terms of tools, processes, and more.
- Bachelor's degree/BFA/MFA or equivalent professional experience in 2D/3D gaming, animation, or particle simulation.
- More than 3 years of professional experience in Spine character animation in the gaming sector.
- Strong knowledge of 2D and 3D graphics fundamentals, stop motion, and computer-generated animation.
- Proficiency in CGI software, primarily Spine, and various VFX software (Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, 3DS Max, Maya, etc.).
- Ability to sketch or draw (digital or traditional) concepts and ideas; storyboarding skills are a plus.
- Experience using asset control systems (Perforce) and the Microsoft Office Suite is advantageous.
- Previous experience in the gaming sector is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, the ability to adjust, and willingness to accept feedback and instruction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with global collaborators.
- Ability to work independently or with a team to develop animations and solve problems.
