Junior Trader (Bookmaker) / VBET - Mixed Shifts
A Trader (Bookmaker) is responsible for setting, adjusting, and managing betting odds across various sports or events to ensure profitability while maintaining a competitive market. This role involves real-time monitoring of betting activity, odds checking, analyzing market trends, managing liabilities, and mitigating risks. We're looking for someone available to work various shifts, including mornings and evenings.
- Odds Compilation & Management: Set and adjust odds based on statistical analysis, market movement, and competitor pricing.
- Ability or knowledge of monitoring and managing sportsbook features.
- Live Trading: Monitor in-play odds and take necessary actions when detecting any suspicious activity.
- Liability & Risk Management: Track betting patterns, analyze exposure, and take necessary actions to mitigate financial risk.
- Market Analysis: Stay updated on sports events, player injuries, team news, and other relevant factors affecting odds.
- Customer Behavior Analysis: Identify sharp bettors and syndicates, applying necessary trading strategies to protect margins.
- Collaboration: Work closely with risk analysts, sportsbook managers, and other teams to optimize trading operations.
- Compliance & Integrity: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and responsible gambling policies.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field (preferred but not always required).
- Experience: Previous experience in sports betting, trading, or a financial trading environment is highly desirable.
- Analytical Skills: Strong numerical ability and attention to detail for odds setting and risk assessment.
- Sports Knowledge: In-depth understanding of various sports, betting markets, and betting behavior.
- Decision-Making: Ability to make quick and accurate decisions under pressure, especially in live trading.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication skills for working within a team-based environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings, depending on the sports calendar.
## Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in sportsbook operations or financial trading.
- Familiarity with automation tools for odds setting.
