Assistant Financial Accountant
As our Assistant Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key part in delivering and strong financial controls are critical to making that happen, you’ll play a key role in managing supplier relationships, ensuring accurate processing of invoices and payments, and supporting month-end and audit processes across multiple entities. Your attention to detail and ownership will help protect the business, improve efficiency, and support sustainable growth. - Processing vendor invoices, reviewing payment requests, and ensuring compliance with authorisation requirements
- Verifying invoices and expense claims for accuracy, tax compliance, supporting documentation, and valid approvals
- Preparing journals, accruals, and prepayments with correct cost allocations by department, brand, and region
- Compiling payment packs and managing vendor payments, including follow-ups on rejected or delayed payments
- Creating and maintaining vendor master data, including agreements, banking details, and posting accuracy
- Resolving supplier and internal queries efficiently, escalating where necessary
- Capturing and reconciling intercompany invoices, statements, and settlements
- Supporting month-end close through supplier reconciliations, FX variance reviews, accruals, and prepayments
- Assisting with audits, process testing, documentation archiving, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting asset register updates and intercompany recharge invoicing
- Clear, confident communication (written and verbal), and the ability to breakdown complex ideas
- A collaborative mindset, working smoothly with cross‑functional teams to hit shared goals
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects without dropping the ball
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality work
- Adaptability – you stay sharp, productive and positive in fast‑moving environments
- A Finance Degree, Diploma, or relevant tertiary qualification
- 3–5 years’ experience in a creditors, accounts payable, or similar finance role
- Strong reconciliation skills and experience auditing statements and payments
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and proficiency in the MS Office Suite
- Excellent attention to detail with a structured, disciplined approach to work
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet multiple deadlines under pressure
