As our Senior Group Category Manager, you’ll play a key part in delivering and owning the end-to-end procurement strategy across digital media, creative, brand and performance marketing, building strong partnerships with Marketing, Finance, and Commercial teams. The role will focus on value delivery, performance optimisation, and innovation across a complex global supplier landscape, for us to stay ahead of the game.

Responsibilities
  • Own and deliver the global category strategy for Marketing, Media & Ad Tech, aligned to business objectives
  • Develop short-, mid-, and long-term category plans based on market intelligence, supplier benchmarking, and demand analysis
  • Drive cost optimisation, value creation, and innovation across the marketing supply base
  • Build a robust pipeline of sourcing initiatives and renewals
  • Lead sourcing across: Digital media (programmatic, paid social, search), Ad tech platforms (e.g., DSPs, data platforms, martech tools), Creative, brand, and performance marketing agencies
  • Develop and implement digital media and ad tech sourcing strategies in partnership with Marketing teams
  • Ensure alignment between global strategy and regional execution
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs, tenders) from specification to contract execution
  • Negotiate complex commercial models (media pricing, agency retainers, incentive structures)
  • Secure best-in-class contractual terms, balancing cost, quality, and risk
  • Act as a trusted commercial partner to Marketing, Growth and Commercial teams
  • Influence senior stakeholders to align on category strategies and sourcing decisions
  • Collaborate with Finance and Legal to ensure benefit delivery, contract compliance, and financial transparency
  • Ensure all procurement activity aligns with internal policies, governance, and risk frameworks
  • Manage supplier risk, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Track and report: Cost savings and value delivery, Supplier performance, Budget adherence and variance reporting
  • Identify and support improvement initiatives in Sourcing processes, policy, guidance and reporting.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to the Group Head of Procurement on strategic initiatives, savings, and compliance.
Requirements

  • 5+ years procurement experience, with strong exposure to Marketing / Media categories (required)
  • Deep understanding of media buying, agency models, and marketing ecosystems (required)
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills; experience with BI tools is a plus (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (required)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders (required)
  • Proven ability to lead (required)
  • Experience in process improvement and implementing procurement best practices (required)
  • Familiarity with procurement metrics and performance tracking (required)
  • Skilled in managing relationships across departments and geographies (required)
  • Expertise in negotiating complex contracts and managing supplier agreements (required)
  • In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends (nice-to-have)
  • Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations (nice-to-have)
  • Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards (nice-to-have)
  • Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies (nice-to-have)
  • CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent procurement certification preferred (preferred)
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is an advantage (nice-to-have)
  • Experience in a multinational or group-level procurement environment (nice-to-have)
  • Ability to balance cost, quality, and risk in procurement decisions (required)
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive strategic decisions (required)
  • Ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in procurement activities (required)
