Cloud Architect
Entain is looking for a Cloud Architect to join its Architect team based in Rome with a hybrid working model. The role involves designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure hierarchies, defining multi-account strategies, and ensuring high availability and scalability of cloud topologies. The Cloud Architect will be responsible for managing enterprise cloud security posture, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and establishing standardisation for cloud services. Additionally, the role focuses on integrating cost-efficiency into infrastructure design through resource tagging, budget guardrails, and FinOps practices while collaborating with Enterprise and Solution Architects to align business requirements with cloud capabilities.
- Design and maintain Landing Zone hierarchy (e.g., GCP Organizations/Folders, AWS Organizations/OUs).
- Define multi-account strategy to ensure strict isolation of workloads, environments, and billing.
- Define scalable and highly available cloud topologies.
- Design VPCs, subnets, transit gateways, interconnect/direct connections, firewalls, and DNS routing strategies.
- Manage enterprise cloud security posture and ensure strict compliance with regulatory frameworks (including ADM, GDPR, and ISO 27001 guidelines).
- Define "golden paths" for cloud services.
- Evaluate, approve, and standardise which cloud services can be used by Solution Architects, ensuring compliance and security standards are met.
- Integrate cost-efficiency into infrastructure design.
- Establish mandatory resource tagging taxonomy, implement budget guardrails, design cost-allocation models, and drive optimisation strategies (e.g., committed use discounts, rightsizing).
- Work with Enterprise Architects to map business/regulatory requirements to cloud capabilities, and support Solution Architects.
- 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3+ years specifically focused on Enterprise Cloud Architecture (required).
- In-depth and hands-on knowledge of core infrastructure services in AWS and/or GCP, including IAM, VPC, Load Balancing, WAF, and Cloud Key Management (required).
- Advanced proficiency in automating foundational environments using Terraform (required).
- Experience in defining custom Terraform modules for enterprise-wide use (required).
- Solid understanding of zero-trust network architecture, DDoS mitigation, egress/ingress controls, and encryption standards for data-in-transit/data-at-rest (required).
- Hands-on experience with cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, GCP Billing Export to BigQuery, or third-party tools like Cloudability) and establishing FinOps practices (required).
- Experience designing cloud infrastructure within highly regulated betting, gaming, or financial services sectors, with specific knowledge of Italian regulatory frameworks (ADM/SOGEI) (nice-to-have).
- Active expert-level infrastructure certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect / Network Engineer (nice-to-have).
- Experience configuring automated cloud security posture management (CSPM) tools (nice-to-have).
