Junior Frontend Developer

Description

You will be part of the UxMatrix department, which manages all front-end requirements ranging from banners and logos to fully functional, cutting-edge online casinos. You will work primarily with JavaScript, JS frameworks and libraries, WebPack/Vite, and NodeJS, utilising HTTP2 and Web Sockets APIs for data transfer. The role involves deploying containerised applications via Docker and Kubernetes within a continuous delivery pipeline. You will be expected to analyse existing functionality and adapt it using the latest web technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Stick to task deadlines and estimate development time for each task.
  • Implement assigned tasks as closely as possible to the previously provided estimation and test them across devices and browsers to avoid future issues.
  • Track development time in official time tracking tools and prevent recurring issues in production.
  • Learn and follow the team's coding standards (or international standards if none exist).
  • Adjust your code based on feedback and technical argumentation from both your junior peers and senior developers.
  • Perform daily code reviews and, together with other responsible team members, approve Git tasks if all issues identified during code review have been resolved.
  • Learn to navigate and improve code written by others.
  • Write simple, clear code documentation that explains the technical solutions you've used.
  • Handle urgent production issues and incidents based on defined processes and SLAs.
  • Share knowledge and ideas with the team.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner, Project Manager, and team to discuss and solve problems.
  • Help the testing and support teams with technical issues.
  • Share feedback, recommendations, and lessons learned with the team.
  • Maintain daily activity tracking within our tools.
Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience in a similar role (required)
  • Previous experience with HTML and CSS3 (required)
  • Previous experience in creating "mobile-first approach" applications (required)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and creating fast performing interfaces using React and Redux (required)
  • Ability to work in a Kanban system with fast switching priorities (required)
  • Having worked with REST web services and/or web APIs (required)
  • Proven interest in testing, code review, and code quality (required)
  • Familiar with software development lifecycle (required)
  • Good written and spoken English (required)
  • Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and time-management abilities (required)
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and give/receive feedback (required)
