Description

The Technical Game Artist role involves providing technical support to the design team by solving complex challenges related to tools, workflows, game code, and Blueprints. The position focuses on supporting artists and engineers with asset validation, optimisation, and troubleshooting, while developing automation solutions for art production pipelines. The role requires a balance of technical expertise and artistic sensibility to ensure high-quality game assets and environments are integrated efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to the Design team, helping solve complex technical challenges related to tools, workflows, game code and Blueprints.
  • Support Artists and Engineers with asset validation, optimisation and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions for art production pipelines.
  • Create and integrate game assets and environments when needed.
  • Edit, clean and optimise character animations.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and best practices for the team.
  • Research and implement new technologies, tools and workflows to improve production efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with Developers, Designers and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute ideas and improvements to existing processes and pipelines.
  • Maintain project files and ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks.
  • Participate in design reviews, team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Support team members during absences when required.
  • Report progress and project status to the direct manager.
  • Deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines.
  • Ensure technical and artistic solutions meet project requirements and stakeholder expectations.
  • Implement feedback and finalise assets based on stakeholder reviews.
  • Maintain project documentation and follow established workflows.
  • Continuously develop technical and professional skills relevant to the Technical Artist role.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and proactively identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Secondary, technical or higher education (required)
  • English at B2 level or above (spoken and written) (required)
  • At least 3 years of experience in game development (required)
  • Good knowledge of Unreal Engine (required)
  • Experience with particle systems and visual effects, especially UE Niagara (required)
  • Knowledge of C++, Python or MAXScript (required)
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.) (required)
  • Experience with at least one 3D modelling tool (3ds Max, Maya, Blender or similar) (required)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite, particularly Photoshop and Substance (required)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills (required)
  • Creative mindset with a problem-solving approach (required)
  • Attention to detail (required)
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation (required)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (required)
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines (required)

  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively with designers, developers and stakeholders (required)
  • Degree in Design, Multimedia or a related field (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with other game engines (nice-to-have)
  • Knowledge of sculpting tools such as ZBrush (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with Corona Renderer or other offline rendering solutions (nice-to-have)
  • Advanced scripting skills in C++, Python or MAXScript (nice-to-have)
  • Understanding of WebGL (nice-to-have)
  • Experience working with AI tools, neural networks and Large Language Models (LLMs) (nice-to-have)
  • Previous experience in the iGaming industry (nice-to-have)
