Lead Product Manager, Payments
FanDuel is hiring a Lead Product Manager to drive the strategy and execution of Payments across its portfolio of products — from Sportsbook and Casino to Racing, Daily Fantasy Sports, and new product categories on the horizon. From deposits and wallet to withdrawals and payouts, you'll shape how millions of customers move money in and out of FanDuel every day, working at the intersection of customer experience, regulatory complexity, and large-scale financial operations. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Commercial, Risk/Fraud, Finance, Compliance, and Legal to build payment experiences that are customer-first, compliant, resilient, and built to scale. This is a high-impact role for a payments product leader who wants to own meaningful surface area at one of the largest regulated consumer payments environments in the U.S.
- Partner with the Director of Payments Product, define and communicate a clear product vision, strategy and roadmap for Payments – balancing customer experience, operational efficiency, and regulatory/compliance requirements.
- Own the end-to-end payments journey across FanDuel's portfolio — deposits, wallet, withdrawals, and payouts — designing capabilities that balance customer experience, conversion, and the controls, disclosures, and auditability required for a regulated environment.
- Engage directly with FanDuel's payment partners and providers to manage day-to-day product needs, surface performance and integration issues, evaluate new capabilities, and support the evolution of our third-party payments ecosystem.
- Stay informed on market shifts, competitors, and emerging technologies to refine the product roadmap.
- Partner with third-party payment providers and internal engineering teams to drive measurable improvements in authorization rates, reliability, and cost efficiency while maintaining strong controls.
- Establish, track, and communicate the success metrics that matter and use a data-driven approach to prioritize work and demonstrate impact.
- Champion a test-and-learn approach: concept validation, A/B tests, pilots, and phased rollouts.
- Partner with engineering to ensure clear requirements, strong acceptance criteria, and high-quality launches.
- Lead complex initiatives end-to-end—from discovery and business case through delivery and iteration.
- Align stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Commercial, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Risk/Fraud, and Operations; remove blockers and drive decisions.
- Deliver concise, action-oriented communication and confidently present to senior leadership and cross-functional partners to secure buy-in, align priorities, and drive outcomes.
- 7+ years of product management experience (required).
- 3+ years owning payments, fintech, or financial systems products (required).
- Demonstrated ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable business impact (required).
- Experience building products in heavily regulated environments and partnering closely with Legal, Compliance, and Risk (required).
- Technical fluency: comfortable collaborating deeply with engineering on APIs, payment flows, ledger/wallet systems, and 3rd-party integrations (required).
- Strong business acumen: crafting business cases, prioritizing tradeoffs, and communicating clearly with executive stakeholders (required).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to influence without authority across senior leadership and cross-functional partners (required).
- Passion for sports, sports betting, or sports-adjacent products (required).
- Knowledge of sports and/or experience working within a heavily regulated industry (nice-to-have).
- Experience with high-volume consumer payments, alternative payment methods (APMs), or emerging payment products such as real-time payments and digital assets/cryptocurrency (nice-to-have).
- Exposure to AI in a product context (nice-to-have).
- Health plans to choose from (some as low as $0 per paycheck) that include programs for fertility and family planning, mental health support, and fitness benefits.
- Generous paid time off (PTO & sick leave).
- Annual bonus and long-term incentive opportunities (based on performance).
- 401k with up to a 5% match.
- Commuter benefits.
- Pet insurance.
- Medical, vision, and dental insurance.
- Life insurance.
- Disability insurance.
- 14 paid company holidays.
- Paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
