Game Mathematician (Slots)
Flutter Studios comprises three of Flutter’s in-house studios together with Product, Technology and Operations teams with the collective objective to create industry leading casino game content exclusively for Flutter casino brands worldwide. We are seeking a passionate, adaptive, Game Mathematician who is ready to use Flutter Studios experience and skills to define the next generation of gaming. As an important part of our studio game teams you will be working on mathematical models for our global online games, and support the development of groundbreaking, casino-style entertainment, with a focus on slot games. Close co-operation will be required with our Game Designers, Product Managers, Producers and experts in other global offices in the US, Canada and Europe. This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both, while recognising that quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned. - Design and own mathematical models for slot games (RTP, volatility, hit frequency, feature mechanics).
- Build simulations to validate models and ensure statistical accuracy.
- Work closely with product, design, and engineering to bring game concepts to life.
- Iterate on game mechanics based on testing, feedback, and performance data.
- Analyze live game performance and provide insights to improve engagement and revenue.
- Support implementation to ensure the final game reflects the intended math model.
- Contribute to the development and evolution of an internal game prototyping tool, supporting rapid concept validation and iteration.
- Experience designing math models for slot games - real-money (required)
- Strong foundation in probability, combinatorics, and statistics (required)
- Comfortable building simulations (required)
- Experience working with developers to implement math models (required)
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders (required)
- Experience with Java, Python or similar languages (nice-to-have)
- Exposure to different slot mechanics and game types (nice-to-have)
- Understanding of certification requirements across markets (nice-to-have)
- Interest or experience in applying AI tools and techniques to game design, simulation, or content generation (nice-to-have)
