Game Mathematician Team Lead
Flutter Studios comprises three of Flutter’s in-house studios together with Product, Technology and Operations teams with the collective objective to create industry leading casino game content exclusively for Flutter casino brands worldwide. We are seeking a passionate, adaptive, Game Mathematician Team Lead who is ready to use Flutter Studios experience and skills to define the next generation of gaming. This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. - Lead the design and delivery of mathematical models for slot games (RTP, volatility, hit frequency, feature mechanics).
- Remain hands-on: design, simulate, and validate models where needed.
- Guide and mentor mathematicians and quant developers, providing direction, feedback, and support in their day-to-day work.
- Own the quality, consistency, and performance of mathematical outputs across multiple games.
- Drive best practices in simulations, balancing, and model validation.
- Work closely with product, design, and engineering to ensure strong alignment from concept to delivery.
- Ensure game mechanics are not only mathematically sound, but also engaging and commercially effective.
- Support planning, prioritisation, and execution across the maths function.
- Contribute to internal tooling and pipelines to improve speed of prototyping and iteration.
- Use data and live performance insights to continuously improve game outcomes.
- Proven experience designing mathematical models for real-money slot games, across a variety of mechanics and game types (required).
- Strong foundation in probability, combinatorics, and statistics (required).
- Experience leading or mentoring others (formal or informal leadership) (required).
- Hands-on experience building simulations and validating models (required).
- Strong understanding of how math design impacts player experience and commercial performance (required).
- Self-organised and outcome-driven mindset — able to manage priorities and deliver results with minimal supervision (required).
- Proactive, “can-do” attitude — takes ownership, drives solutions, and pushes things forward (required).
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across disciplines (required).
- Experience using AI tools to improve workflows, simulations, or prototyping (required).
- Programming experience (Java, Python, or similar) (nice-to-have).
- Understanding of certification requirements across different markets (nice-to-have).
- Experience contributing to or building internal tools/platforms (nice-to-have).
