Head of Technical Compliance

Description

We are currently looking for a Head of Technical Compliance to lead our technical compliance strategy and oversee the implementation of compliance processes, policies, and testing frameworks globally. In this senior leadership role, you will define our technical compliance roadmap and act as the primary bridge between our legal/regulatory obligations and our product and technical teams. Working with senior stakeholders across the business, you will ensure our entire suite of platforms and products is technically compliant across all active and upcoming markets. GiG currently operates in 30 jurisdictions and counting, meaning you will manage a truly global technical footprint, including key markets such as Spain, Portugal, and France. You will play a crucial role in shaping a "compliance by design" culture across GiG, ensuring that our technological systems and operations not only align with stringent regulatory requirements but also set industry standards. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of iGaming operations, complex technological infrastructure, platform architecture, and intricate regulatory frameworks. To be successful in your application, you must be a highly motivated, strategic thinker; detail-oriented; an experienced leader; and able to independently drive the compliance vision, manage external audits, and mentor a team of compliance specialists across our organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and scale the Technical Compliance team, taking ultimate responsibility for ensuring our technology remains compliant with all relevant regulations, licence requirements, and certifications globally.
  • Derive compliance requirements from laws and regulations to assist the business in entering new markets while maintaining existing ones. Capture technical regulatory requirements for software, hardware, and tool configurations across our 30+ active jurisdictions (such as Spain's DGOJ, Portugal's SRIJ, and France's ANJ, among others) and incorporate them into specifications for the product roadmap.
  • Collaborate extensively across the organisation at a senior level, primarily between Legal & Compliance and Tech, but also with Security, Product, and Data, ensuring compliance is a foundational component of all delivery moving forward.
  • Oversee and manage the relationship with external Accredited Testing Facilities (e.g., GLI, eCOGRA, BMM) and relevant national regulatory bodies. Arrange, prepare for, and manage external audits, certifications, and any findings arising therefrom within agreed deadlines.
  • Define high-level acceptance test criteria and oversee the compliance testing processes prior to deployment. Define the monitoring requirements of technical compliance controls.
  • Oversee the review and amendment of all technical policies to ensure they are up to date with all relevant rules, laws, and regulations. Be responsible for overseeing regulatory reporting, ensuring accurate compilation and submission in conjunction with key personnel.
  • Act as the ultimate internal point of reference and subject matter expert for questions relating to technical standards, change management, and compliance processes relevant to technical changes. Proactively research the technical requirements for all relevant global markets.
Requirements
  • Technical Qualifications or professional certifications in a relevant field, ideally in Information Systems, Computer Sciences, or IT Compliance.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior technical compliance, technical product, or regulatory role within the iGaming industry.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing, mentoring, and scaling technical or compliance teams.
  • Extensive experience and a firm understanding of technical regulatory requirements across multiple global iGaming jurisdictions.
  • Specific experience in, or knowledge of, markets such as Spain, Portugal, and/or France is highly desirable.
  • A firm understanding of industry best practice standards, information security principles (e.g., ISO 27001), and IT infrastructure requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory jargon into actionable technical specifications.
  • Understanding of Spanish, Portuguese, or French will be considered an asset.
  • A proven track record of successfully managing complex platform homologations and working directly with independent testing laboratories.
Benefits
  • Great career development opportunities
  • Hybrid working model
  • International Health Insurance
  • Health and Wellbeing Package (350 EUR per year)
  • Birthday Day Off
  • Me Time - 1 day off per year
