Senior Payment Support Manager
This role exists to own end-to-end technical configurations for merchant payment integrations and cashier configurations, ensuring compliant, reliable, and observable payment processing across environments. The role focuses on accelerating time-to-live for clients through accurate setup, validation, and maintenance of payment configurations. It is a critical function as all client journeys and payment expansions depend on correct configuration processes.
- Intake, clarify, and prioritise configuration change requests from clients and internal teams.
- Translate business constraints into executable configurations across payment methods and MIDs.
- Configure and maintain payment methods, acquirer connections, and MIDs in Back Office.
- Plan and execute end-to-end validation including request/response mapping, callbacks, and reconciliation checks.
- Coordinate production launches ensuring readiness across Engineering, SRE, Compliance, and Support.
- Provide L3 support, investigate incidents, and resolve configuration-related issues.
- Analyse logs and transactions using observability tools to ensure configuration stability.
- Define monitoring dashboards and alerts for approval rates, errors, and provider performance.
- Maintain documentation, workflows, and act as subject-matter expert for Payment Gateway configuration.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in payment integrations configurations or similar roles (required).
- Experience in configurations, QA, or Business Analysis within payments or fintech (required).
- Strong understanding of JSON and XML with ability to configure payloads and provider schemas (required).
- Hands-on experience with REST clients and API contract validation (required).
- Working knowledge of SQL/PostgreSQL for data validation and diagnostics (required).
- Experience with webhooks/callbacks verification and troubleshooting (required).
- Experience with Git/GitLab for configuration versioning and change control (required).
- Basic understanding of CI/CD processes (required).
- Solid understanding of payment flows including authorization, capture, settlement, refund, and void (required).
- Knowledge of 3DS/SCA flows and MID management (required).
- Awareness of compliance and risk controls such as KYC, AML, and fraud rules (required).
- Practical experience with Postman or similar REST tools, JIRA, Confluence, manual testing, and log analysis tools (required).
- Strong sense of ownership, ability to manage multiple tasks, and understanding of SDLC processes (required).
