Managing Editor
Legend is hiring a Managing Editor due to growth. You’ll be reporting directly to our Publishing Leadership. This role will support our Content team to expand and optimise our growing sites across North America, Europe and beyond. You'll be working on English-language markets. You will lead a world-class team of a couple of highly specialised Content Managers, overseeing a larger team of skilled editors[circa 10]. Some of these teams are established, and some you’ll be building. Co-own the content journey of thousands of users and build a long-term, sustainable strategy that keeps us ahead of the competition. - Full ownership of content quality across your markets.
- Mentoring, nurturing and coaching your team to drive their performance, ensuring they deliver at pace and to standard.
- KPI tracking and accountability, embedding metrics into daily work.
- Operational excellence in task planning, commitments, and OKRs.
- Workflow optimisations, including BAU streams, AI opportunities, and content freshness strategies.
- Work closely with our Content Managers to ensure Best In Class content is shipped, this could be through developing SEO guides, aligning best practices or getting hands-on to suggest improvements.
- A strong managerial toolkit, understanding how to best lead your team members to unlock the most of their potential.
- You’ll have experience coaching, developing, mentoring and leading others development plans.
- An extensive track record of writing and editing high-quality content, boosting user engagement and organic traffic for English-speaking markets.
- Additional languages, especially German, would be especially helpful.
- Proven experience as a process builder - you’ll have set up new guidelines and processes to help drive team performance.
- Ideally, using AI and automation to ship quality content at velocity.
- Demonstrable experience of using SEO tools [like SEMRush, AHREFS] and Content Performance tools [like GA4] to boost user engagement and organic traffic.
