Senior Data Engineer

Description

We are looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to help build a brand-new Snowflake-based data platform from the ground up. Our organization aspires to lead AI driven transformation, and we have identified that a state-of-the-art Data Platform is an absolute prerequisite for such an endeavor. This is a unique opportunity to join at the early stages of this major data modernization initiative and shape the future of our analytics ecosystem. You’ll work closely with Data/BI Engineering and Analytics teams to design and implement scalable data pipelines, model high-quality datasets, and establish best practices across our modern data stack. If you enjoy hands-on engineering, solving data challenges, and working with cutting-edge cloud technologies, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities
  • Help design and establish a scalable Snowflake architecture (databases, compute strategy, access model, environments).
  • Build and own production-grade data pipelines from ingestion through transformation to consumption.
  • Define and implement data modeling standards (e.g., layered architecture, semantic models).
  • Ensure data reliability by implementing testing, monitoring, and observability practices.
  • Partner with analytics and business stakeholders to translate data needs into durable data products.
  • Optimize performance and cost efficiency across Snowflake and pipeline workloads.
  • Contribute to data governance, security, and access patterns as part of platform design.
  • Help define and promote engineering best practices across the data team.
Requirements
  • Strong experience as a Data Engineer in production environments (required)
  • Deep SQL expertise and experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred) (required)
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, ELT patterns, and pipeline design (required)
  • Experience building and operating reliable data pipelines (testing, monitoring, observability) (required)
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks (required)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills (required)
  • Fluency in spoken and written English. (required)
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure), especially object storage (S3, ADLS, GCS) and identity/access concepts. (preferred)
  • Experience building with AI / GenAI— e.g., using LLMs or AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude), building RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, or working with Snowflake Cortex (Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Cortex AI functions). (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with dbt for transformations and modeling. (preferred)
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or cloud-native equivalents). (preferred)
  • Familiarity with streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub). (preferred)
  • Exposure to BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Looker, Tableau). (preferred)
Benefits
  • Competitive benefits, an open and supportive environment as well as a modern and exciting workplace.
  • The opportunity to interact with global teams on a regular basis and the possibility to switch teams and projects as you and our business continues to develop and grow.
  • Exciting projects with opportunities for creating positive change to our game engineering ecosystem.
  • A stunning work location and flexible hybrid working whilst we provide you with the guidance and development skills you need to progress quickly and enhance your career.
