DBA Engineer
Design, implement, and maintain high-performance database systems to support large-scale applications. Optimize database queries, indexing strategies, and partitioning to enhance performance. Monitor database health, ensuring high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery. Manage and fine-tune SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, ClickHouse). Implement database security policies, encryption, and access control to protect sensitive data. Automate database backups, replication, and failover mechanisms. Work closely with developers to optimize queries, schema design, and data modeling. Perform capacity planning and monitor database growth trends. Ensure compliance with data governance, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements. Stay updated with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) for database provisioning and configuration, migrations and versioning. Participate in defining and enforcing data modeling standards and best practices.
- Resolve complex performance bottlenecks in large-scale environments
- Implement database changes with minimal business impact
- Design and implement HA/DR architectures
- Troubleshooting of problems, problem analysis and solution implementation
- Work with DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD workflows
- Around 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or similar role.
- Expertise in relational databases PostgreSQL , NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) and analytical database ClickHouse.
- Strong knowledge of database optimization, indexing, partitioning, and replication.
- Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting slow queries across different SQL dialects
- Experience with cloud database platforms.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) for database deployment and management.
- Experience with observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack) for database monitoring and logging
- Familiarity with database backup, recovery, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Aurora)
- Knowledge of scripting for automation ( Bash, SQL scripts).
- Understanding of data security best practices, encryption, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets and high-traffic applications.
