Head of Retention

Description

Lead and oversee the Retention function, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Develop and evolve a comprehensive player retention strategy across the full lifecycle (activation, engagement, reactivation, VIP). Own retention KPIs and performance metrics, including responsibility for unit economics. Design and implement advanced segmentation and personalization strategies (including predictive models). Foster a data-driven culture, promoting experimentation and unit economics across the department. Analyze data, monitor key metrics, and design, launch, and interpret A/B tests. Plan, execute, and monitor retention campaigns and strategic initiatives. Collaborate closely with Product and Tech teams to enhance CJM, UX, and key user journeys. Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Traffic, VIP, TWU, etc.) to align strategies and deliver global initiatives. Manage the retention budget and ensure cost efficiency. Lead and develop the Retention team (Casino, Sports, Gamification verticals). Drive team growth, motivation, and professional development through mentorship and coaching. Automate processes and optimize resource allocation. Prepare reports and present insights and results to top management. Identify and implement new retention tools and mechanics (gamification, loyalty programs, automation).

Responsibilities

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in the Gambling industry in Retention / CRM roles, including 2–3+ years in a leadership position
  • Proven experience managing multiple teams
  • Deep understanding of key retention metrics, including relationships between high-level and granular KPIs, with the ability to manage and take ownership of them
  • Hands-on experience with unit economics and managing the efficiency of retention investments
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing retention and reactivation strategies, as well as building scalable processes
  • Strong analytical background: ability to work with data, interpret results, and make data-driven decisions
  • Solid understanding and practical application of data-driven approaches, A/B testing, and hypothesis validation
  • Strong leadership skills: goal setting, prioritization, strategic planning, resource allocation, workload management, and effective performance management and team development
  • Experience in implementing processes and scaling functions
  • Proactive mindset, strategic thinking, and strong focus on business outcomes
