Trading Systems Associate (Malta)
We are seeking a technically driven individual with a background in the Sportsbook industry and a strong passion for sports and statistics. This role is complimented by familiarity with either SQL, Splunk/ELK, Azure Log Analysis, or similar query languages to support and optimize trading operations across Pinnacle’s platforms. The primary objective is to ensure the seamless operation and continuous improvement of Pinnacle’s trading systems. A key aspect of the role includes building a broad-spectrum understanding of Pinnacle’s domain and learning the ins and outs of support efforts needed for major sportsbook events. The role involves flexible scheduling, including one weekend day, to maintain optimal coverage during critical sporting events. As part of Pinnacle's multinational Trading Systems team, you'll collaborate across departments and gain exposure to the inner workings of a world-class, tech-driven sportsbook, with ample opportunities for career growth and training.
- Monitor trading systems continuously to ensure stability and uptime, particularly during critical business hours and major sporting events. This can include on-call considerations as sporting support coverage is necessary
- Liaise with the Trading, Development, and R&D teams to understand new products
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues, escalating complex problems to the Trading and Development departments when necessary
- Build the skills necessary to conduct root cause analysis for system failures both minor and major
- Respond and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to trading system health, such as user reported errors and automated alert investigation
- Develop an understanding of monitoring tools, such as Grafana, Splunk, or ELK to track system performance, addressing anomalies to maintain optimal system functionality
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, workflows, and operational processes for both internal reference and training purposes
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, or a related field (required)
- Experience working with ticketing systems like JIRA, Zendesk, or other incident management platforms (required)
- Professional experience from Sports Betting or Trading or within the Sportsbook industry (required)
- Knowledge of SQL for querying large data sets, troubleshooting database-related issues, and optimizing system performance is a plus (preferred)
- Experience with general query language enabled log indexing systems such as Splunk or ELK is a plus (preferred)
