AI Engineer

Playtech Managed Services is looking for an AI Engineer with strong system‑design thinking, exceptional collaboration skills, and a high sense of ownership. This role involves designing AI features using modern LLMs to deliver intelligent, high‑impact product capabilities. You will build RAG pipelines, ensure AI quality, maintain AI traceability, and develop scalable APIs. The role also includes creating backend services, implementing backend foundations, integrating external systems, and supporting compliance needs in regulated environments.

• Design AI features using modern LLMs to deliver intelligent, high‑impact product capabilities.
• Build RAG pipelines including data ingestion, chunking, embedding, and vector storage.
• Ensure AI quality through confidence scoring, evaluation methods, and safety guardrails.
• Maintain AI traceability with clear logging, prompt tracking, and auditability.
• Develop scalable APIs using REST or GraphQL to support robust backend systems.
• Create backend services in Python (FastAPI) or Node.js with clean, maintainable architecture.
• Implement backend foundations such as authentication, data validation, and observability.
• Integrate external systems to extend platform functionality and reliability.
• Apply secure coding and enforce strong API security and encryption standards.
• Support compliance needs including audit logs and controls for regulated environments.

• AI development experience with 3+ years working on AI‑driven systems.
• Work confidently with backend frameworks using Python or Node.js in production environments.
• Apply practical AI/ML knowledge including LLM APIs, open‑source models, and RAG architectures.
• Demonstrate strong API expertise in REST best practices, OpenAPI, data modeling, and storage.
• Utilize vector and orchestration tools such as Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, PGVector, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
• Apply prompt engineering principles and evaluation strategies to improve AI reliability.
• Understand AI safety including hallucination mitigation and guardrail design.
• Navigate regulated environments such as finance, gaming, or healthcare.
• Work with modern infrastructure including Kafka, streaming systems, and monitoring tools like Grafana or Prometheus.
• Bridge AI and production engineering to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
• Communicate clearly through strong documentation and cross‑team collaboration.
• Leverage additional strengths such as building internal tools, working with agent architectures, or designing data pipelines.
• Work comfortably with our tech stack including FastAPI/Node.js, OpenAI/Azure OpenAI/Llama, MySQL, Redis, and vector databases.
