Database Administrator
Playtech's Infrastructure unit is looking for a Database Administrator with a proactive mindset and strong analytical thinking. This role involves daily operations of the company’s global database platform, from initial setup to tools development. You will work with high-volume databases in a complex environment, planning and executing all aspects of database administration to achieve maximum stability and availability. Responsibilities include installing and upgrading databases and high-availability solutions, developing automation and monitoring tools, and participating in an on-call rotation to support production incidents.
- Work with the company’s global database platform daily operations - from initial setup to tools development
- Work with high-volume databases in a complex environment with many moving parts
- Plan and execute all aspects of database administration to achieve maximum stability and availability
- Install and upgrade databases and high-availability solutions for databases
- Develop automation, monitoring and other tooling
- Participate in an on‑call rotation to support database‑related production incidents
- Have solid hands‑on experience with MySQL database administration.
- Have good understanding of general IT concepts, especially networks and Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Are a collaborative team player who is open to new ideas and modern approaches.
- Enjoy solving technical problems and can handle moderately complex challenges.
- Are proactive — when you notice something isn’t working as expected, you naturally look into it and help get it resolved.
- Are motivated to grow your technical expertise and continuously expand your knowledge.
- Have basic to intermediate scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar) to support automation and tooling.
