Description

Playtech's Infrastructure unit is looking for a Database Administrator with a proactive mindset and strong analytical thinking. This role involves daily operations of the company’s global database platform, from initial setup to tools development. You will work with high-volume databases in a complex environment, planning and executing all aspects of database administration to achieve maximum stability and availability. Responsibilities include installing and upgrading databases and high-availability solutions, developing automation and monitoring tools, and participating in an on-call rotation to support production incidents.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the company’s global database platform daily operations - from initial setup to tools development
  • Work with high-volume databases in a complex environment with many moving parts
  • Plan and execute all aspects of database administration to achieve maximum stability and availability
  • Install and upgrade databases and high-availability solutions for databases
  • Develop automation, monitoring and other tooling
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation to support database‑related production incidents
Requirements
  • Have solid hands‑on experience with MySQL database administration.
  • Have good understanding of general IT concepts, especially networks and Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Are a collaborative team player who is open to new ideas and modern approaches.
  • Enjoy solving technical problems and can handle moderately complex challenges.
  • Are proactive — when you notice something isn’t working as expected, you naturally look into it and help get it resolved.
  • Are motivated to grow your technical expertise and continuously expand your knowledge.
  • Have basic to intermediate scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar) to support automation and tooling.

## You'll get extra points for

  • Knowledge or hands‑on experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience working with AWS database services.
  • Exposure to running databases on Kubernetes, especially using MySQL/MariaDB or PostgreSQL operators
