Deployment and BIT Team Leader

Description

Playtech’s Videobet unit is looking for a proactive Deployment and BIT Team Leader with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment. This role involves leading and mentoring an engineering team, ensuring the timely release of software builds and customer deliveries, and overseeing the design and development of automated product deployment mechanisms. The Deployment and BIT Team makes sure the software is compiled, packaged, and delivered to customers on time, overseeing the release life-cycle from developers’ commits through to deployment to customers’ production estates around the world, making the process smooth, reliable, and automatic.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team through technical coaching, resource planning, and proactive performance management.
  • Lead the analysis and troubleshooting of tools & system failures, coordinating effective solutions between internal R&D and external customers.
  • Ensure the timely release of software builds and customer deliveries, proactively identifying and communicating potential risks or delays.
  • Coordinate and assist in the creation, maintenance, and scaling of continuous integration and delivery processes.
  • Oversee the design and development of automated, resilient product deployment mechanisms.
  • Actively participate in the development cycle as a part of the Scrum team.
Requirements
  • Possess 3+ years of experience in a software development environment, with hands-on expertise in process automation & testing or DevOps practices.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of software release lifecycle and Agile development principles.
  • Apply strong communication and problem-solving skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Exhibit proficiency with command-line tools (Windows, Linux) and version control systems such as SVN or Git.
  • Utilize scripting or programming languages effectively (e.g., Python, Shell, Batch, Java, C#, C/C++, or AutoIT).
  • Maintain exceptional self-planning and organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrate a high sense of responsibility, technical precision, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Have good written and spoken communication skills in English.
  • Experience with build automation tools and DevOps tools (Maven, Jenkins, Ant, Gradle, Bitbucket, Ansible, Kubernetes, QuickBuild, Hudson, etc.)
