Operations Engineer
Description
Playtech's IMS unit is looking for an Operations Engineer with strong communication and problem-solving skills. You will take responsibility for troubleshooting incidents, formulate theories, test hypotheses, and narrow down possibilities to identify the root cause. You will communicate effectively with various teams across the company, solve problems and propose improvements to current solutions, ensure that products operate reliably 24/7, and work with documentation to support ongoing processes and knowledge sharing.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for troubleshooting incidents.
- Formulate theories, test hypotheses, and narrow down possibilities to identify the root cause.
- Communicate effectively with various teams across the company.
- Solve problems and propose improvements to current solutions.
- Ensure that products operate reliably 24/7.
- Work with documentation to support ongoing processes and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Can script basic programming languages (Python or Bash, etc..) (required)
- Are familiar with Git, Puppet, and Grafana (required)
- Understand the fundamentals of Linux OS and Networking (required)
- Have working knowledge of SQL and can write simple queries (required)
- Take ownership of your tasks and enjoy working independently (required)
- Manage your time efficiently and consistently deliver on commitments (required)
- Are curious by nature and like to dig into details to understand how systems work (required)
- Having higher education in IT (nice-to-have)
- Previous experience with Web servers (Apache, Nginx) (nice-to-have)
- Having experience with AWS cloud (nice-to-have)
