QA Engineer
Playtech's Game team is looking for a motivated and quality-driven QA Engineer who is eager to be a part of a collaborative and international work environment. This role involves performing quality control activities, planning, estimating, prioritizing, and coordinating testing activities. The QA Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining test cases, test scenarios, use cases, and user stories, as well as building test reports. They will also review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to ensure the developed product meets all specified requirements. A key part of the role is to find, identify, and report failures and defects, taking ownership of their resolution and retesting. The QA Engineer will also design, develop, debug, execute, and maintain automation scripts using the internal automation tool for each game. Proactive problem-solving and escalation to the QA Team Leader when necessary are expected. The role requires providing sufficient information to stakeholders for informed decisions regarding quality levels and ensuring product compliance with regulatory requirements and standards. Testing and evaluating products against non-functional characteristics such as performance efficiency, reliability, usability, security, compatibility, and portability is also a responsibility. Continuous skill development and knowledge acquisition in the QA domain are encouraged.
- Perform quality control activities
- Plan, estimate, prioritize, and coordinate testing activities with the Team and the QA Team Leader
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain the test cases, test scenarios, use cases, user stories, and build the test reports
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and use the approach described in the existing Test Strategy
- Review the requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to verify that the developed product fulfills all specified requirements
- Find, identify, and report the failures and defects that were found during testing
- Take ownership of each assigned task or reported defect and make sure it will be resolved and retested according to its lifecycle and impact
- Design, develop, debug, execute, and maintain the automation scripts using the internal automation tool for each game
- Be proactive and solve work-stopping problems and escalate to the QA Team Leader if necessary
- Provide sufficient information to stakeholders to allow them to make informed decisions, especially regarding the level of Quality
- Make sure the product complies with the regulatory requirements and standards
- Test & evaluate products against non-functional characteristics such as performance efficiency, reliability, usability, security, compatibility and portability
- Constantly develop skills and get new knowledge in the QA-related domain
- 2+ years of experience as a QA Engineer
- Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the QA role within it
- Solid knowledge of software QA methodologies, processes and test design techniques
- Experience in Client-side (Mobile & Web) and Server-side (API & Integration) testing
- Clear understanding of client–server architecture, request/response flow, and data consistency
- Practical understanding of OOP principles, database fundamentals, and basic algorithms
- Working knowledge of SQL (reading queries, basic joins, data validation)
- Confident use of JIRA, Confluence, TestRail, and traffic/debugging tools such as Postman, Burp, Fiddler, or Charles
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills
- Intermediate+ level of English
