Senior Database Administrator

Playtech's Infrastructure unit is looking for a Senior Database Administrator with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will work with the company’s global database platform daily operations - from initial setup to tools development. You will work with high-volume databases in a complex environment with many moving parts. You will plan and execute all aspects of database administration to achieve maximum stability and availability. You will install and upgrade databases and high-availability solutions for databases. You will develop automation, monitoring and other tooling. You will participate in an on-call rotation to support database-related production incidents.

• Work with the company’s global database platform daily operations - from initial setup to tools development.
• Work with high-volume databases in a complex environment with many moving parts.
• Plan and execute all aspects of database administration to achieve maximum stability and availability.
• Install and upgrade databases and high-availability solutions for databases.
• Develop automation, monitoring and other tooling.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support database-related production incidents.

• Expert-level knowledge in PostgreSQL and Maria DB database administration (required).
• Knowledge and know-how of the IT field in general - specifically about network and operating systems (Linux/Unix) (required).
• Strong scripting ability (Python, Bash, or similar) to support tooling and automation workflows (required).
• True team player and open to new ways of doing things (required).
• Proactive - when you see something that's broken, it's only natural for you to get it fixed and find out the root causes (required).
• Strong learning capabilities to support continuous knowledge expansion (required).
• Hands-on experience with AWS database services (nice-to-have).
• Experience running databases on Kubernetes using MariaDB or PostgreSQL operators (nice-to-have).
