Senior Database Administrator
Description
Playtech's Infrastructure unit is looking for a Senior Database Administrator with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will work with the company’s global database platform daily operations, from initial setup to tools development. You will work with high-volume databases in a complex environment with many moving parts, and plan and execute all aspects of database administration to achieve maximum stability and availability. You will install and upgrade databases and high-availability solutions, develop automation, monitoring and other tooling, and participate in an on-call rotation to support database-related production incidents.
Responsibilities
- Work with the company’s global database platform daily operations - from initial setup to tools development
- Work with high-volume databases in a complex environment with many moving parts
- Plan and execute all aspects of database administration to achieve maximum stability and availability
- Install and upgrade databases and high-availability solutions for databases
- Develop automation, monitoring and other tooling
- Participate in an on‑call rotation to support database‑related production incidents
Requirements
- Expert-level knowledge in Oracle, PostgreSQL and Maria DB database administration.
- Knowledge and know-how of the IT field in general - specifically about network and operating systems (Linux/Unix)
- Strong scripting ability (Python, Bash, or similar) to support tooling and automation workflows.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS database services (extra points)
- Experience running databases on Kubernetes using MariaDB or PostgreSQL operators (extra points)
