Software Engineer
The Sports Data & Odds Engineering organisation is responsible for developing, delivering, and operating a broad portfolio of products that power Sportradar's global sports data and betting ecosystem - processing millions of real-time events every day for media companies, sports federations, betting operators, and consumer apps across 120 countries. Working closely with rights holders, media organizations, and betting partners, our teams build and maintain highly scalable systems that support the collection, processing, analysis, and distribution of sports data and odds across more than 30 sports disciplines, including e-sports. The development teams based in Warsaw contribute to multiple products and initiatives across these domains, building distributed systems that operate at global scale, process millions of events daily, and deliver mission-critical services that are available 24/7.
- Build and maintain high-performance Java services for sports data and betting products running 24/7 at global scale.
- Work across the full stack of features - design, implementation, testing, and production - with support from the team around you.
- Contribute to cloud-native solutions on AWS, learning how distributed systems behave under real load.
- Collaborate on architecture and design discussions - your perspective is welcome from day one.
- Write clean, well-tested code and actively improve it through peer review and feedback.
- Develop deep domain expertise in one of the most technically demanding real-time environments in the industry.
- Work closely with senior engineers, embrace TDD practices, and grow through pair programming and collaborative problem-solving.
- You have 2+ years of professional software development experience and have delivered production Java software (required).
- You write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and take pride in it (required).
- You understand object-oriented design principles and know when to apply them (required).
- You are comfortable working in an agile team and communicating clearly with engineers and stakeholders (required).
- You are genuinely curious - about the technology, the domain, and the people you work with (required).
- Experience with AWS, Kafka, Docker or Kubernetes is a bonus, but appetite to learn carries just as much weight here (nice-to-have).
