Government Affairs Manager Southeastern Europe SEE

Description

The Government Affairs Manager – Southeastern Europe (SEE) drives and supports the execution of the company’s government affairs strategy across the region, working directly with the VP Corporate Affairs on high-priority engagements and strategic initiatives. The role covers all SEE markets (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia). The role combines ownership of government affairs activities in Serbia with regional coordination and execution across Southeastern Europe. This role is expected to operate as an owner of outcomes, covering the full chain from regulatory intelligence and position development to stakeholder engagement and delivery of tangible results. Operating in complex and politically sensitive environments, the role requires strong judgment, speed, and the ability to deliver in high-pressure situations, including regulatory developments and strategic transactions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead government affairs activities in Croatia as the core market
  • Build and manage relationships with government stakeholders, regulators, and industry bodies
  • Identify regulatory risks and opportunities and translate them into action
  • Drive engagement initiatives through to measurable outcomes
  • Lead and coordinate government affairs activities across SEE markets
  • Ensure alignment between group priorities and local execution
  • Support consistent deployment of advocacy priorities across the region
  • Own defined markets or topics from intelligence to outcome
  • Drive initiatives through to completion with clear accountability
  • Deliver tangible impact across markets
  • Engage across government, regulatory, and policy ecosystems
  • Build relationships with industry associations, diplomatic stakeholders, and think tanks
  • Prioritise stakeholders based on influence and strategic importance
  • Prepare high-quality briefings and materials for senior leadership
  • Translate regulatory developments into actionable insights
  • Support high-level engagements and negotiations
  • Ensure disciplined follow-through across multiple markets
  • Maintain structured tracking and reporting
  • Deliver outcomes within defined timelines
  • Identify and act on regulatory risks and opportunities early
  • Contribute to shaping engagement strategies and positioning
Requirements
  • 5–10 years of experience in government affairs, public affairs, or a regulatory environment
  • Strong experience and an established network in Croatia
  • Experience across SEE markets (strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to own and deliver outcomes end-to-end
  • Strong stakeholder management, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex, multi-market environments
