Head of Compliance - Technical Standards & Gaming
We are evoke plc, one of the world’s leading betting and gaming companies with internationally renowned brands, including William Hill, 888, and Mr Green and we're looking for a Head of Compliance - Technical Standards & Gaming who'll be responsible for ensuring our UK licensed businesses comply with the GB Gambling Commission’s Remote Gambling and Software Technical Standards (RTS) and other applicable equivalent relevant to UK activities. This includes Retail and Online operations. This role owns the translation of requirements into practical technical standards, control frameworks, product requirements, testing obligations, release controls and assurance activity. In this role, you'll be accountable for ensuring obligations are embedded across the end-to-end lifecycle of systems, games, content, platforms, third-party integrations and operational change. This is a senior role (based in Leeds or London) and you'll be a subject matter lead for technical compliance matters you’ll be the key point of coordination between Compliance, Technology, Product, Security, Operations, Retail, Legal, Internal Audit and external testing or assurance providers.
- Owning our RTS compliance framework
- Ensuring RTS requirements are translated into clear internal standards, design controls, testing criteria, evidence requirements and approval gates
- Providing second line oversight and challenge on whether products, systems and change activity meet RTS requirements before release
- Maintaining effective governance over RTS control operation, assurance, issue escalation and remediation
- Acting as the senior compliance SME for RTS interpretation, testing strategy and regulatory engagement on technical standards matters
- Ensuring RTS obligations are embedded into product design, software development, architecture, deployment and operational processes from initial scoping through to live operation
- Advising the business on where RTS applies within retail environments, particularly for products or channels that constitute remote gambling or rely on remote communication. The Commission’s remote sector guidance includes self-service betting terminals in betting shops among examples of remote gambling
- Owning the running and results of the annual games testing audit.
- Significant experience in gambling compliance, technical compliance, IT controls, product compliance, technical assurance or technology risk in a regulated environment with hands-on experience interpreting and implementing the Gambling Commission’s RTS or equivalent regulated technical standards (required)
- Demonstrable experience overseeing technical testing, certification, control evidence and release governance for regulated products or systems alongside experience working across software delivery, product, operations, supplier management and second line governance (required)
- Experience managing regulatory findings, technical incidents, audit actions and control remediation with experience leading teams and influencing senior stakeholders across compliance, product and technology (required)
- Working knowledge of the GB RTS framework, including security requirements and the Commission’s testing expectations with excellent understanding of technical control design, SDLC governance, defect and release management, third-party assurance and evidence-based compliance (required).
