Head of Procurement - Marketing - 12m FTC
Here at evoke plc, our procurement team is responsible for maximising commercial value, managing risk and driving strategic supplier partnerships across all third-party spend categories. Marketing is one of our most strategically important and commercially significant spend areas, encompassing media, performance marketing, creative and production agencies, sponsorship, MarTech platforms, data services and specialist suppliers. In this role you'll sit within the Group Procurement function, leading the strategic procurement management of all Marketing-related third-party spend across the Group’s brands (William Hill, 888 and Mr Green). You'll be the senior procurement lead for the Marketing category, partnering closely with Executive and Senior Leadership stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, Legal and wider business functions to shape strategy, optimise investment and strengthen supplier governance. This position requires excellent contractual literacy and experience working closely with Legal, Finance and Risk functions. This is a key leadership position within our procurement function, contributing to capability development, Procurement transformation initiatives and the continued evolution of strategic sourcing practices across the Group. You'll be a commercially astute Procurement professional who can operate strategically, influence at senior levels and lead complex commercial programmes within a fast paced environment.
- Defining and leading the Procurement strategy across all Marketing spend categories, including media, agencies, production, sponsorship, MarTech and data services.
- Developing and executing category strategies aligned to business priorities, commercial objectives and Procurement transformation goals.
- Leading high-value, complex sourcing programmes and commercial negotiations with strategic Marketing suppliers and agency partners.
- Driving measurable commercial value through strategic sourcing, supplier optimisation and robust commercial frameworks.
- Acting as the senior Procurement advisor to Executive and Senior Marketing stakeholders, influencing investment decisions and challenging constructively where appropriate.
- Identifying market trends, risks and opportunities to inform Procurement strategy and support competitive advantage.
- Ensuring Procurement processes, controls and governance standards are consistently applied across Marketing spend activity.
- Leading, coaching and supporting Procurement team members, contributing to capability development and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Playing an active role within the wider Procurement Leadership team, supporting functional strategy, transformation initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.
- MCIPS qualified (or working towards qualification) with significant senior Procurement leadership experience across Marketing and/or indirect spend categories with a proven track record developing and delivering Procurement category strategies within complex, fast-paced organisations (required).
- Extensive experience leading high-value negotiations with media agencies, creative partners, Mar-Tech providers and strategic suppliers with a strong understanding of agency remuneration models, media buying structures and SaaS/platform commercial frameworks (required).
- Demonstrable delivery of substantial commercial value, cost optimisation and supplier performance improvement with strong strategic sourcing, supplier governance and contract management capability (required).
- You'll be highly credible with Executive and Director-level stakeholders; able to influence, challenge and build trusted relationships (required).
