The Senior Cloud Engineer is part of the Data Platform Infrastructure team and is responsible for designing, building, and operating the cloud infrastructure and deployment capabilities that power evoke’s Smart Data Platform (SDP). The role owns and supports critical platform capabilities across AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform/Terragrunt, GitLab CI/CD, Python automation, Apache Flink, OpenSearch, observability, monitoring, alerting, cost optimisation, and operational support. The engineer will help ensure that real-time data processing workloads are deployed reliably, monitored effectively, and operated safely across environments. The role directly supports platform resilience, scalable data infrastructure, real-time data processing, and strategic data initiatives such as Event Broker. Working closely with Data Engineering, Framework, Platform, and product-aligned teams, the engineer will contribute to reusable infrastructure patterns, reliable deployment capabilities, and operational excellence. The role includes ownership of Kubernetes and CI/CD platforms, evolution of Flink deployment patterns across AWS Managed Flink and EKS, contribution to OpenSearch infrastructure and security, and continuous improvement of observability, reliability, and cost efficiency across the platform. As a senior technical contributor, the engineer will provide hands-on guidance to other teams, lead technical discussions where required, support the design of streaming-based solutions, and promote knowledge sharing and documentation. The role also embraces modern AI-assisted engineering practices, leveraging tools such as Codex, Copilot, Claude, or equivalent technologies to improve productivity, delivery quality, automation, and engineering workflows.
