HR Business Partner Lead - Support Functions & Malta
Betsson Group is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping the people strategy for its Malta hub. In this high-impact position, the successful candidate will serve as the dedicated People Partner for the Finance and Legal teams, working closely with senior leaders to drive business success through people.
This role requires a professional who thrives on balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution and is passionate about creating an exceptional employee experience. The role involves shaping leadership capability, strengthening culture, and ensuring that HR practices across Malta are aligned, effective, and locally relevant. The individual will work closely with various HR functions to ensure the right leadership culture and people practices are in place while providing data-led insights and guidance on local organisational needs.
- Act as the dedicated People Partner for the Finance and Legal functions, providing day-to-day HR support and guidance on employee relations matters, performance management, organisational changes, policy interpretation, employee wellbeing, and local people priorities.
- Review, maintain, and enhance local HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Maltese employment legislation while continuously improving the employee experience.
- Monitor Malta-specific people data and HR metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, translating insight into practical action plans and regular reporting.
- Work closely with the Office and Facilities Management team to support an efficient, well-run workplace and a positive environment for employees based in Malta.
- Lead and coordinate local employee engagement initiatives, CSR activities, the Malta Ambassador Programme, and office events, fostering a strong sense of community, inclusion, and connection across the business.
- Champion an inclusive, positive, and high-performing culture, helping to create a workplace where employees feel supported, engaged, and connected.
- Minimum 6+ years of HR experience, including strong business partnering responsibilities and experience supporting senior stakeholders (required).
- Strong experience in employee relations, performance management, and leadership coaching, with the confidence to manage complex people matters in a pragmatic and balanced way (required).
- A strong understanding of Maltese employment law and local HR practices (required).
- Experience working across matrixed or multi-stakeholder environments, with the ability to build credibility and influence across different levels of the organisation (required).
- Strong commercial and organisational awareness, with the ability to balance business priorities with employee needs and sound judgement (required).
- Confidence using people data and insight to identify trends, shape recommendations, and support decision-making (required).
- A collaborative and hands-on approach, with the ability to move comfortably between strategic topics and operational delivery (required).
- Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to be onsite 5 days a week (required).
