Java Developer
The ComeOn.com website is a service-oriented web application where stability, high performance, and user experience are top priorities. The frontend is optimised for a multi-device web solution and the tech stack consists of HTML5, CSS3/4, Javascript with React. For client-side state management, Redux is used. On the server side, the business logic is proprietary Java code developed alongside open-source frameworks and external integration modules. The database is a MySQL cluster with distributed and dedicated report servers and a data warehouse. The company continuously looks for new technologies and innovative solutions to offer a very competitive gaming experience to its customers.
- Help build the best gambling site on the Internet.
- Work with all parts of the system and all stages of the development process in a team-oriented environment.
- Integrate with external systems.
- Develop internal components and subsystems.
- Potentially contribute to frontend development for mobile and desktop devices.
- Work closely with the business side of the organisation to develop and implement new features.
- Work with modern technologies such as Java, Kafka, Docker, MongoDB, MySQL, React, Spring Boot, deployed as a Debian package, or in Kubernetes.
- Read code written over the course of 15 years by around 60 developers, and find manageable paths to modernise it in risk-averse increments.
- Good at Java (required)
- Understand that reading code is more difficult than writing code (required)
- Approximately 3+ years of previous work experience (required)
- Experience with web application/service development (required)
- SQL Knowledge (required)
- Know how to get legacy code under test (required)
- Be curious and willing to discuss and exchange knowledge with team members (required)
- Be a communicative member of an agile delivery team consisting of Devs, QAs and PO (required)
- Experience with Tomcat, Maven, Spring, MongoDB, Guava, Guice, MySQL, Nginx, Linux, Jenkins, and GIT, Docker, Kubernetes (nice-to-have)
- Fluent in written and spoken English (required)
