Crypto Specialist
As our Crypto Specialist, you’ll play a key part in delivering a secure and trusted crypto‑centric online casino environment, getting hands‑on with proactive monitoring, risk detection, fraud prevention, AML controls, KYC processes, and responsible gaming initiatives. The Crypto Specialist is responsible for safeguarding the online casino’s operations through the monitoring, detection, and investigation of crypto‑related risks, ensuring regulatory compliance and customer integrity while protecting both players and the business.
- Monitor real-time player activity, deposits, withdrawals, and gameplay patterns for suspicious or anomalous behaviour.
- Identify potential abuse scenarios including multi‑accounting, bonus abuse, chargeback fraud, collusion, and botting.
- Conduct detailed investigations using internal tools, blockchain explorers, and third‑party analytics platforms (e.g., Chainalysis).
- Escalate confirmed or high-risk incidents to relevant stakeholders with detailed evidence packages.
- Monitor player behaviours for indicators of problem gambling, including rapid loss patterns, erratic play, sudden spikes in transactions, or self-exclusion attempts.
- Apply internal responsible gaming policies and regulatory frameworks related to crypto gaming jurisdictions.
- Engage directly with players when necessary to implement cooling-off periods, limits, or interventions.
- Maintain accurate logs of interactions, interventions, and follow-up actions.
- Perform enhanced transaction monitoring on crypto deposits and withdrawals.
- Analyse wallet behaviour for links to mixers, darknet markets, sanctioned entities, or high‑risk countries.
- Conduct EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) on high‑risk users and high-value transactions.
- Prepare SAR/STR/SMR reports in accordance with internal policies and relevant licensing jurisdictions.
- Stay updated on global regulatory changes concerning crypto AML, including FATF guidance and blockchain-specific red flags.
- Conduct identity verification checks, document authentication, and biometric validations.
- Perform KYT (Know Your Transaction) assessments using blockchain analysis tools.
- Validate source-of-funds/wealth documents for crypto-heavy players.
- Ensure all customer data and verification activities comply with GDPR, data protection laws, and licensing requirements.
- Clear, confident communication (written and verbal), and the ability to breakdown complex ideas (required).
- A collaborative mindset, working smoothly with cross‑functional teams to hit shared goals (required).
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects without dropping the ball (required).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality work (required).
- Adaptability – you stay sharp, productive and positive in fast‑moving environments (required).
- 2–4 years of experience in Fraud, AML, Crypto Compliance, RG, or similar operational risk roles (required).
- Experience in iGaming, online casinos, sportsbooks, fintech, or crypto exchanges (preferred).
- Chainalysis, ACAMS Crypto Asset, ICA AML or RG Certifications (nice-to-have).
- In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends (nice-to-have).
- Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations (nice-to-have).
- Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards (nice-to-have).
- Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies (nice-to-have).
- Strong knowledge of cryptocurrency fundamentals (wallets, blockchain mechanics, smart contracts, mixers, stablecoins) (nice-to-have).
- Experience with at least one blockchain analytics platform (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM Labs) (nice-to-have).
- Understanding of AML/CTF regulations and crypto-specific compliance guidelines (nice-to-have).
- High attention to detail with strong investigative and critical-thinking skills (nice-to-have).
- Ability to identify behavioural patterns and convert insights into actionable decisions (nice-to-have).
- Strong written communication skills for drafting concise investigative reports (nice-to-have).
