Network Administrator
As a Network Administrator, you will be supporting the delivery of a stable and well-maintained platform, covering our critical network infrastructure. This role is crucial for excelling at keeping the customer engaged with a world-class experience to stay ahead of the game.
You will be responsible for the administration and engineering of the networking environment, ensuring optimal configuration and performance of all network hardware and software. This involves working closely with Infrastructure, Infosec, DevOps, and Dev teams, proactively improving infrastructure, reducing operational costs and complexities, and performing maintenance on all relevant networking hardware. Logging of systems is essential for efficient troubleshooting, and ensuring that all network equipment and configurations are securely backed up to a centralised repository is vital for efficient recovery and continuity in the event of system failures or configuration changes.
Monitoring, notifications, and standby duties are also key aspects of this role. You will ensure effective monitoring is in place with appropriate escalation, continuously monitor the network environment to track key performance metrics, and ensure that all deviations from expected thresholds are logged and trigger real-time alerts across both LAN and WAN environments. PagerDuty configuration and adherence to the established incident management process are required, along with joining the 24x7 standby rotation.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams is necessary for optimal configuration and performance of cloud deployments, providing guidance and network best practices. This includes reviewing deployments, making changes or suggestions, and continually optimising cloud resources. Terraform knowledge and experience with Azure & AWS networking are also important.
Maintaining great vendor relationships is key, fostering strong, professional relationships with external vendors, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and prompt resolution of issues. You will also hold vendors accountable for issues and outages and maintain good support relationships, keeping track of hardware warranties and support contracts.
Information Security collaboration is essential to ensure the business is adequately protected, aligning security strategies with organisational objectives, identifying potential risks, and implementing proactive measures. Changes must be reviewed by InfoSec, and best practices adhered to. Adherence to SOX and ISO 27001 standards is required, along with proactive management of audits, risk assessments, and security controls. You will also maintain and configure load balancers for best practice, work with and assist other teams to ensure the best possible configuration, and review load balancers to ensure they are working within acceptable limits.

- Adhere to the established incident management process for all production issues, ensuring timely identification, escalation and resolution.
- Join the 24x7 standby that is rotated weekly.

- A Relevant Information Technology tertiary qualification (required).
- A Relevant Networking certification such as CCNA or equivalent (required).
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in the Information Technology industry (required).
- Proven understanding of Switching, Routing, Firewall and Load Balancer technologies (required).
- Proven understanding of Layer2 and Layer3 networks with protocols such as VLAN, Spanning-Tree, MACSec, LACP, VRRP, HSRP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IPSEC, NAT, Policy-Based Routing, SSLVPN (required).
- Proven understanding of Cloud provider networking (required).
- Proven experience in configuring and deploying network equipment including but not limited to, Switches, Routers and Firewalls in a secure standards-based manner (required).
- In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends (preferred).
- Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations (preferred).
- Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards (preferred).
- Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies (preferred).
- Experience in using coding/scripting to automate/reduce time taken to complete manual tasks (preferred).
