Audio Specialist
The Audio Specialist is responsible for project builds and ongoing audio support of our studios’ gaming floor environments. This role involves maintaining and configuring the studio audio infrastructure, establishing and refining build processes, and planning resources. The specialist will also prepare reports, provide information to other departments, and collaborate with team members to keep projects on schedule. Additionally, they will plan and organize audio equipment maintenance and repair works, maintain logs, and order necessary equipment and materials. The role also includes replacing colleagues during absences and performing other related duties as assigned by the manager.
- Maintain and configure the studio audio infrastructure (audio encoders, microphones, analog and digital audio rack equipment.)
- Establish and refine build process, plan resources.
- Prepare and provide required reports, provide needed information to MCR and other departments
- Plan tasks, collaborate with other team members as necessary
- Keep timelines of projects.
- Plan and organize the audio equipment maintenance and repair works; maintain maintenance / repair log.
- Request and order needed equipment, tools and materials
- Perform other duties, as asked by the manager, which are related to this position .
- Replace colleagues during their vacations, sick leaves and other absences. Replacement takes place during the working time, and it is not considered as additional work.
- Intermediate experience working with analog and digital audio sources, associated mixer hardware and other rack mounted audio equipment.
- Familiarity with audio converter hardware an asset.
- Ability to create and terminate SDI and XLR cables are a desired asset.
- Experience with DANTE audio systems a significant advantage.
- Experience with wiring and cabling of electrical / electronic components, including soldering / splicing, is a significant asset.
- Experience with cable organizational management and labelling required.
- Experience working in commercial / industrial workspaces where construction may be taking place.
- Observation of health and safety best practices is a must.
- First Aid certification is an asset but not required at time of hire.
- Must be able to travel (obtain / maintain valid passport status) in order to attend training / support teams in other offices.
- Participation in an on-call rotation for after hours / emergency support is required.
- Ability to contribute extra hours outside of regular weekly working hours in order to deliver on tight deadlines
