Backend Engineering Intern
Description
We are excited to offer a 6 month internship for passionate individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in Scala development. As an intern, you will contribute to building scalable systems which use modern functional programming-based design approaches. You’ll work with a modern technology stack, including Scala and Cats Effect, while collaborating with experienced engineers and gaining real-world development experience in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the development team to contribute to production software using Scala
- Participate in software development, focusing on improving technical skills and staying up to date with industry trends
- Assist in delivering high-quality code for a scalable application with a global user base
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and problem-solving
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering or a related field
- Passion for software development and a desire to improve technical skills
- Basic knowledge of Java, functional programming, or object-oriented programming, with a willingness to learn and contribute
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Strong communication skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
