Merchandising Operations Associate

Description

Our roster has an opening with your name on it The MerchOps Experimentation Associate supports the merchandising experimentation program across FanDuel Sportsbook and Predicts, partnering closely with the Senior Associate, Experimentation and the MerchOps Sr. Director. This role sits at the heart of how we test, learn and ship improvements to the customer experience - from A/B tests to multivariate and multi-armed bandits - covering the full experimentation lifecycle at a smaller scale, with guidance from more senior team members on design nuance and go/no-go decisioning. The Associate will help run experiments end-to-end across both surfaces — Sportsbook merchandising (parlay module, pre-packaged bets, market templates, SGP/SGP+, X-Event) and Predicts (prediction markets UX, module placement, event discovery). They'll partner cross-functionally with Product, Risk & Trading, Tech, Commercial, and UX Analytics to build, QA, monitor, and report on tests, keeping the pipeline visible and the learnings flowing back into the roadmap In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Experimentation Backlog — Support the Senior Associate in grooming and maintaining the testing backlog across Sportsbook and Predicts, helping keep ideas, hypotheses and priorities clearly documented and visible to stakeholders.
  • Intake & Triage — Be a first point of contact for experiment ideas coming from Product, Commercial and Marketing, capturing requirements and surfacing feasibility questions for senior review.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration — Work with UXA, Product, Risk & Trading, Commercial and Tech to shape sound experiment designs that balance user value with commercial outcomes across both Sportsbook and Predicts.
  • Setup & Launch — Configure tests in FanDuel's CMS (Sanity) and experimentation platform (Amplitude), coordinate with Product/Tech on feature-flag readiness, and execute MerchOps QA before every launch.
  • Ongoing Monitoring — Run regular health checks on in-flight experiments — tracking accuracy, sample size pacing, guardrail metric stability — and escalate anomalies to the Senior Associate and partner teams quickly.
  • Measurement & Reporting — Partner with UXA to pull results, review statistical significance and business impact, and help build readouts and dashboards that make outcomes easy to consume.
  • Communication — Keep stakeholders updated via Slack, Confluence and quarterly summaries, maintaining clear records of in-flight and completed tests across Sportsbook and Predicts.
  • Analysis & Decisioning — Contribute analysis and point-of-view to go/no-go rollout discussions, with senior team members owning the final call, and help standardize learnings back into the MerchOps knowledge base.
  • Industry-leading Merchandising — Collaborate with the wider MerchOps team to help keep the FanDuel Sportsbook and Predicts experiences best-in-class in design, usability and commercial effectiveness.
Requirements
  • 1–2 years of experience in an analytical, operations or product role, ideally within digital marketplaces, ecommerce, gaming or sports betting.
  • Working knowledge of A/B testing methodology, hypothesis-driven work and metrics-based decision making.
  • Familiarity with Amplitude Analytics (or a comparable analytics/experimentation platform) is highly preferred.
  • Exposure to or curiosity about product metrics and how we measure user experience and commercial performance in a consumer app.
  • Comfort with CMS tools (Sanity preferred), feature flagging and the standard operating stack (Amplitude, Tableau, Confluence, JIRA).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to keep multiple experiments tracked, monitored and communicated without things falling through the cracks.
  • Good collaboration instincts and the confidence to ask questions across Product, Tech, Commercial, Risk & Trading and UXA.
  • Clear written communication — able to translate experiment results into plain-language takeaways for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for sports betting, prediction markets, gaming or sports in general, with curiosity about user behaviors and how merchandising shapes them.
Benefits
  • medical, vision, and dental insurance
  • life insurance
  • disability insurance
  • a 401(k) matching program
  • paid personal time off
  • 14 paid company holidays
  • paid sick time
  • annual bonus and long-term incentive opportunities (based on performance)
  • commuter benefits
  • pet insurance
