Description

The HR Manager is a hands-on people leader supporting Hub Ceuta across multiple brands. This role partners closely with the GM Spain and local leadership team to deliver people strategies that support business performance, operational excellence, and a strong employee experience. Blending strategic HR business partnering with operational HR management, the role covers the full employee lifecycle and requires deep, practical expertise in Spanish employment law. You will act as the local authority on employee relations, compliance, and risk, while ensuring alignment with group HR frameworks and regional standards.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary HR partner to the GM Spain and leadership team for Hub Ceuta.
  • Provide trusted, commercially sound people advice aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Coach and support managers to strengthen leadership capability, accountability, and people decision-making.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert on Spanish employment law, ensuring all people decisions are legally compliant and risk-aware.
  • Lead and manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary processes, performance management, grievances, dismissals, redundancies, and redeployment, in line with Spanish labour legislation.
  • Advise leaders on contracts, working time, absences, collective agreements, and statutory obligations.
  • Partner with external legal counsel and works councils/unions where required.
  • Proactively identify employment law risks and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Oversee and support the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding with the full support of the Global HR Operations team who handle all administration activities.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and documentation comply with Spanish labour law and are aligned with group standards.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure audit readiness.
  • Support managers with clear guidance on HR processes and policy interpretation.
  • Managing the working hours register (as this is mandatory by the labor law regulation)
  • Support organisational design activities, including structure reviews, role design, and grading.
  • Lead and embed local change initiatives, ensuring clear communication and smooth implementation.
  • Support business change while maintaining legal compliance and employee engagement.
  • Drive a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture across all brands in Hub Ceuta.
  • Use engagement data, feedback, and regular employee touchpoints to improve employee experience.
  • Partner with leaders to deliver engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Own and continuously improve local onboarding processes.
  • Partner with leaders on talent planning, succession, and capability development.
  • Support consistent and fair performance management and development conversations.
  • Deliver local rollout of group people programmes, including performance and reward cycles.
  • Coach managers and employees to support growth and development.
  • Assess key people metrics (engagement, attrition, absence, performance).
  • Use insights to highlight trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain alignment with group HR standards through collaboration with HR Centres of Excellence and the SEU People Lead.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in an HR Manager or HR Business Partner role in Spain (required).
  • Strong, hands-on knowledge of Spanish employment law, with proven experience managing complex ER cases (required).
  • Experience advising senior leaders on legally compliant people decisions (required).
  • Broad generalist HR expertise across the full employee lifecycle (required).
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and coaching skills (required).
  • Experience supporting multi-brand or multi-site environments (required).
  • Ability to balance risk management with pragmatic, business-focused solutions (required).
  • Experience working with works councils or unions (nice-to-have).
  • HR qualification (CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent) (nice-to-have).
  • Change or project management experience (nice-to-have).
