Developer Level 2
Games Global is where great developers do their best work. We are looking for a Software Developer who understands that writing code is only part of the job. The bigger part is understanding the business problem you are solving and making sure your solution actually moves things forward. We are a team that is heavily focused on optimisation and efficiency. That means you will regularly be asked to look at how things work today and figure out how to make them work better. Faster processes, leaner systems, smarter solutions. You do not need someone looking over your shoulder to get there. You need the drive to find the answer yourself. You will be working primarily in .NET 8 on the backend and React + TypeScript on the frontend, with PostgreSQL as the data layer and an AWS-hosted deployment pipeline built around Kubernetes and Azure DevOps. The codebase is well-structured and the team takes its standards seriously. You will be expected to as well.
- Contribute to a continuous improvement culture, actively looking for ways to optimise systems, reduce friction, and deliver more value with every piece of work.
- Work within a Kanban team on a mix of new feature development and improvements to existing systems, always keeping the business outcome in mind.
- Pick up requirements, work through the design with your tech lead and senior developers, and build software that meets the spec on time and to standard.
- Write your own tests. You own the quality of what you build and you will partner with QA to make sure test plans cover the full scope.
- Take part in mandatory peer code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback to keep the codebase and the team sharp.
- Hand off to DevOps for deployments, making sure your code is well-documented and release-ready before it gets there.
- Support production issues with urgency when they come up. Identify the scope quickly and resolve or escalate.
- Share what you know proactively, not just when someone asks.
- Contribute ideas to improve how the team works, not just what it builds.
- 2+ years of software development experience (or 4+ with a 1-year certification, or 5+ total).
- A problem-solving mindset. You care about the why behind the work, not just the what.
- An eye for inefficiency. You notice when something could be done better and you do something about it.
- Practical experience with .NET or a similar backend framework, and the appetite to go deeper.
- Solid understanding of the SDLC from requirements through to deployment.
- Good software design fundamentals. You think before you type.
- Clear communication, written and verbal. You keep people in the loop without being chased.
- The ability to self-manage your time and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- A collaborative spirit. You are the kind of person who makes the whole team better.
