Match Lead
Description
The Match Lead role supports live football and basketball operations by utilising Genius Sports technology to ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of tracking and event data. This position involves leading a team of Operators during live game shifts, maintaining focus during play, and providing clear feedback to enhance system processes and operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead a group of Operators across 1–2 football games per shift.
- Track and confirm key game events, including dead balls, stoppage time and similar moments.
- Confirm teams, line-ups, players and player markings before and during games.
- Stay focused during live ball situations and support accurate event data delivery.
- Join post-game meetings and share clear feedback with Operators and Operations Managers.
- Complete marking tasks that help improve the accuracy and design of our systems.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail, even in loud or distracting environments. (required)
- Good communication skills, especially when working under pressure. (required)
- Confidence making quick decisions during live events. (required)
- Ability to work well with remote colleagues and live operations teams. (required)
- Strong punctuality and reliability for shifts linked to live game schedules. (required)
- Good working knowledge of Google and Microsoft tools, especially Excel or Google Sheets. (required)
- A proactive, adaptable and accountable approach to sensitive business information. (required)
- 15-30 hours of availability each week. (required)
- Access to a personal laptop or computer (2019 model and after). (required)
- Personal laptop/computer with 512GB hard drive. (required)
- Access to Internet download/upload speed minimums: 50 download / 10 upload. (required)
- Willingness to work weekends and nights. (required)
- Experience leading, training or supporting other team members. (nice-to-have)
- Ability to report issues clearly and help improve team performance. (nice-to-have)
- Experience with live sports operations or event data workflows. (nice-to-have)
