Frameworks Developer
Great games are the bedrock of Inspired, and our developers are at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for a highly motivated and highly skilled developer to join our Game Frameworks team. This is a key role where you’ll contribute not only to technical excellence, but to the overall quality and evolution of our proprietary game framework. You’ll be involved throughout the full lifecycle of our products from initial concept and design through architecture, development, testing, and distribution working with cutting-edge technology on some of the most advanced gaming hardware in the industry.
- Developing library code used by the game development teams
- Working as part of a small development team to deliver projects to schedule
- Writing efficient, stable, and flexible code suitable for production environments
- Mentoring and supporting less experienced developers where required
- Developing automated test code to validate library functionality
- Working closely with QA teams to triage, debug, and resolve issues
- Developing our in-house game engine and tooling
- Estimating work, maintaining feature lists, and tracking progress throughout development
- Producing clear technical documentation and contributing to standardisation
- Continuously developing your own technical knowledge and programming methodologies
- Professional programming experience spanning 5 years or more
- Expert-level knowledge of C++, particularly C++20
- Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#
- Knowledge of Graphics APIs, particularly DirectX 9 and 11
- Knowledge of source control systems, particularly Git
- Experience with asynchronous programming primitives (coroutines, goroutines, promises/futures, callbacks)
- Provable experience of developing and maintaining code used over multiple projects
- Expert-level C++ knowledge with proven commercial use
- Experience developing and maintaining codebases used across multiple projects
- Strong ability to work with existing code and solve problems beyond your immediate domain
- Strong mathematical and probability skills
- Experience with estimation, task breakdown, and long-term development planning
- Experience of automated peer review processes
- Familiarity with Agile, TDD, or BDD methodologies
- Recent experience developing retail or online gambling applications
