Anaplan EPM Data Architect

Description

As the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Data Architect, you will be part of the Finance Transformation team that has overall responsibility for defining and overseeing the Finance Transformation Roadmap. The Finance Transformation team are a new addition to the Finance vertical and it is important for the successful candidate to help the Head of Finance Transformation continue to build the credibility and value proposition of a Transformation team. So, a “can do” attitude and “willingness to get hands dirty” will be a prerequisite for success in the Role. As the Data Architect you will be a specialist in designing and optimizing data architectures for Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) systems, with proven expertise in Anaplan and Tagetik. Based in Romania, you will play a key role in enhancing our consolidation, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. This position requires a deep understanding of financial data flows, integration strategies, and best practices in EPM to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data models and architectures within EPM platforms to support financial planning, consolidation, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with finance, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and implement scalable EPM solutions.
  • Integrate data from diverse sources (e.g., ERP systems like D365 F&O and Microsoft BC, databases, and external APIs) into EPM tools, ensuring seamless data flow and integrity.
  • Optimize data structures for performance, scalability, and security, including implementing data governance policies and compliance with financial regulations (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Conduct data analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to resolve issues in EPM environments.
  • Provide training and support to end-users in finance teams on EPM tools and best practices.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in EPM technologies and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ensure all solutions align with organizational goals, focusing on cost optimization and risk management.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks in the implementation.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential issues and minimize impact.
  • Monitor risk levels and escalate critical issues as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across different departments.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure alignment over the project life cycle.
  • Address concerns and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in finance-related roles, with a focus on EPM systems, data architecture, or financial analytics.
  • Ideally Anaplan and Tagetik Taxation module experience.
  • Hands-on experience working in the finance industry, such as in FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis), corporate finance, or financial consulting.
  • Proven track record of successful EPM implementations in multinational or complex organizational settings.
  • Extensive experience in enterprise data architecture, strategy, and implementation.
  • Strong expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) with relevant certifications highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of data modelling, data lake design, and metadata management tools.
  • Proven ability to design secure, scalable, and cost-effective data solutions in cloud ecosystems.
  • Outstanding leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative and innovative mindset.
  • Enthusiastic with ability to take initiative and provide direction to others.
  • Organised self-starter, with drive and ambition to quickly make an impact within an evolving business.
  • Strong customer focus, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to write clear documentation.
  • Capable to communicate technical concepts to all stakeholders.
  • Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Understanding of DevOps methodologies and tools.
  • Exposure and experience with AI technology is desirable.
  • Relevant sector experience would be an advantage, such as Gaming background, digital, retail or e-Commerce.
  • Listed group experience or within a high-growth business a benefit.
