Junior Basketball Trader
It’s an exciting time to join us! We’re entering new markets, developing new technologies, and moving step by step towards our goal of exciting the world. As our basketball product expands—covering everything from the NBA and NCAA to EuroLeague and Liga ACB —we are looking for a fresh, motivated colleague to join our trading floor. We are looking for a Junior Basketball Trader who is ready to jump into the deep end of sports analytics. You don’t need a decade of experience, but you do need a "courtside" mind. You will be responsible for the life-cycle of basketball odds: from setting pre-match lines to managing high-speed in-play markets. This role is about precision, quick reflexes, and a passion for the game.
- Set up and price a wide range of basketball markets, including Point Spreads, Moneylines, and Totals (Over/Under).
- Help compile odds for the "stat-sheet" markets that fans love—Points, Rebounds, Assists, Threes Made, and Double-Doubles.
- Manage live basketball games using our in-house "Hoops Model," adjusting lines in real-time as the shot clock winds down and momentum shifts.
- Assess incoming bets to identify "sharp" patterns and work with the Risk team to protect the company's exposure during high-stakes games.
- Monitor global market movements to ensure our prices are both attractive to customers and mathematically sound.
- Collaborate with our data scientists and "Playstack" developers to give feedback on how to make our basketball models faster and more accurate.
- You know the difference between a "Drop Coverage" and a "Switch," and you understand how a star player’s injury affects the entire rotation.
- You are comfortable with numbers and basic probability. You don't need to be a calculator, but you should understand how odds represent the likelihood of an event.
- As a global company, good English speaking and writing skills are essential for collaborating with our teams in Zagreb, Belgrade, London, Athens, Bucharest, and beyond.
- High comfort level with Excel and an ability to learn new, complex trading software quickly.
- You can make calm, logical decisions in a fast-paced environment (like when a game is tied with 10 seconds left).
- You are a "sponge" for information and are excited to be mentored by veteran traders.
- A degree in a quantitative subject (Math, Stats, Economics) or a related field.
- Experience with personal sports betting or high-level fantasy basketball.
- Your "office hours" will follow the bounce of the ball. You will work on a shift-rotation basis, including evenings and weekends, ensuring you are at the heart of the action when the NBA tips off or the EuroLeague Final Four begins.
