Associate Payroll Analyst

Description

This role is for an Associate Payroll Analyst who will support the monthly payroll cycle, coordinate with external payroll providers, administer employee benefits, track time-off and leave, manage new hire setups, process reimbursements, and provide customer service for payroll-related inquiries. The position is within the Internal Finance team and is a full-time, hybrid role based in Lisbon, Portugal.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the monthly payroll cycle by collecting data, validating inputs, checking for discrepancies, and supporting final closing activities.
  • Coordinate with our external payroll BPO to ensure data is submitted on time, and assist with collecting necessary documentation for statutory reporting (eSocial).
  • Administer employee benefits (health, dental, meal vouchers, life insurance).
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations and review vendor invoices for accuracy before passing them to Accounting.
  • Track and monitor vacation schedules, sick leaves, and time-off requests.
  • Support ensuring calculations for vacations and terminations are processed accurately and within local deadlines.
  • Execute the payroll and benefits setup for new hires during the onboarding process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records across all Payroll and HR systems.
  • Process employee expense reimbursements through payroll.
  • Assist in compiling monthly data for routine reports (such as benefits utilization and cost tracking).
  • Act as the first line of support for employees' day-to-day inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and time-off, escalating complex issues when necessary.
Requirements
  • Experience working with payroll vendors (BPO) and Payroll & HR systems.
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple processes and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to support employees and stakeholders.
  • Advanced English and Portuguese (Mandatory).
  • Intermediate to advanced French (with opportunities to interact with the French payroll).
  • Experience in Payroll and Benefits administration (If in Brazil or France).
  • Experience in multinational companies.
  • Familiarity with HR/payroll systems.
  • Familiar with Brazilian labor laws and statutory requirements (e.g., eSocial).
