Technical Product Owner

Description

We seek an experienced Technical Product Owner to join our engineering team. This role involves driving Agile development forward, ensuring efficient software rollouts, and steering technical teams to accomplish their goals. You will have the opportunity to work with innovative technology and collaborate across various business functions to deliver quality products.

Responsibilities
  • Enable the release of value by ensuring frequent software deployments of high quality.
  • Apply Agile development and software engineering principles.
  • Define, own, and communicate the capture of delivery benchmarks.
  • Drive continuous improvement within your teams and department.
  • Plan, track, and communicate delivery achievements.
  • Own and adjust staffing strategy to deliver business needs.
  • Lead recruitment activity.
  • Promote collaboration with other business areas and teams, such as UX, Build, Product, Tech, Data, Network Operations, and Production Engineering.
  • Cultivate a learning environment.
  • Facilitate career progression.
  • Undertake and ensure regular line management activities for direct and indirect reports.
  • Support the flow of communications to and from the team.
  • Actively promote an inclusive working environment.
  • Track and validate costs.
  • Support and align with Target Architecture.
Requirements
  • Solid knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology along with software engineering practices and tools.
  • Theoretical knowledge or practical experience with Agile at scale.
  • Experience working within DevOps organizations implementing practices such as continuous delivery, monitoring, and testing through automation.
  • Proficient understanding of XP operational methodologies such as writing tests before coding, Continuous Integration, and collaborative programming.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven application of planning and estimation techniques including capacity and scenario planning.
  • Capacity planning – aligning team’s capacity based on sprint work and member availability.
  • Data-driven monitoring and measures – tracking benchmarks, product metrics, and measures of success.
  • Presentation and storytelling – conducting engaging and captivating meetings and presenting ideas/findings.
  • Cross-functional collaboration – bridging different engineering teams as needed.
  • Technical experience – has a tech background with hands-on experience and is able to brainstorm with the team and architects.
  • Familiarity with gaming platforms/digital products – understanding system needs in such an environment.
  • Proficiency in agile/efficiency tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to prioritize under pressure – balancing multiple collaborators and tight timelines.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills – spotting opportunities and issues early.
  • Adaptability – prioritising tasks as business needs evolve.
  • Leadership – influencing teams without direct line management.
