Specialist, Strategic Finance

Description

As a Specialist in Strategic Finance at Bitpanda, you will play a key role in driving financial excellence and supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation. You’ll be responsible for the creation and assessment of business cases, managing purchase orders, supporting month-end closing activities, and acting as the financial counterpart for selected performance accounts and business areas. You’ll contribute to reporting packages, enhance financial models, and serve as a valued finance business partner to cross-functional stakeholders. You’ll be part of the Strategic Finance team embedded within the CFO area, working closely with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation to ensure robust financial oversight and impactful business insights.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted finance business partner to functional teams, enabling data-driven decision-making and promoting financial acumen across the business.
  • Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities to increase efficiency in planning and reporting cycles.
  • Contribute to month-end closing processes, including accruals, reclasses, and journal entry preparation, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Develop and evaluate business cases for strategic initiatives, providing financial insights and scenario modelling to support investment decisions.
  • Contribute to financial modelling efforts, including forecasting, long-range planning, and scenario analysis, aligned with business objectives.
  • Support and enhance reporting packages and dashboards, ensuring timely delivery of actionable insights to management and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Experienced FP&A Specialist or Controller with a strong foundation in finance, accounting, and business partnering, ideally with 3–5+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment. (required)
  • Proven track record in building and assessing business cases, budgeting, and supporting operational decision-making. (required)
  • Highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and turning numbers into insights. (required)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership. (required)
  • Comfortable navigating PO systems and financial closing processes, with a working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite) and planning tools (e.g. Anaplan). (required)
  • Familiarity with large datasets and basic SQL is a plus. (nice-to-have)
