Software Eng (Dev) II
Software developers are responsible for a range of technical contributions to software development with regard to gaming platforms, and game development tool/process through research, design, development, modification, debugging, review, testing, and documentation. The software developer may be involved in an array of technical challenges including innovative game concepts, process improvement, networked gaming, distributed computing, and addressing the needs of groups across global studios based on studio purview. Projects may include new game creation or adaptations to assigned market for conversions. Software must ultimately conform to quality, regulatory, and jurisdictional requirements that contribute to the overall design vision of each game project. This role works on a cross-functional game development team including Producers, Project Managers, Graphic Artists, Mathematicians, Software Developers, Technical Artists, Test Engineers, and 3rd party contractors as needed. The types of products this role may support include core product lines such as class II slot, class III slot, keno, poker, electronic table games, and products for other specialty markets, depending on the Studio’s product mix and project assignments. Central to the position is the candidate’s ability to build collaborative relationships and drive results.
- Design, code, test, review, document, and debug software that meets the product and customer requirements with mentor oversight.
- Develop games for IGT customers, including core logic and graphical UI.
- Protocol and documentation development to support game development process and quality assurance testing.
- Participate in the development of software development solutions with guidance from senior staff members.
- Properly test, debug, and fix defective game code.
- Participate in the internal and external release of games to testing agencies.
- Versed in the full development process and software systems.
- Able to communicate development status, milestones, and deliverables.
- Able to provide code reviews for games developed by peers.
- Collaborate with other disciplines (art, math, game design, etc.) for game development and defect fixing.
- Consult with development managers and technical leads on software implementation and the escalation of software issues.
- Provide analysis and feedback for these issues as required.
