Data Engineer

Description

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and report solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources into the data warehouse.
  • Design ER models and implemented fact-dimension schemas optimized for BI workloads and Snowflake data platforms.
  • Design the data model principles to build star or snowflake schema with exposure to Kimbel architecture and Medallion conceptual architecture with CDC Events and familiar with Dimension models and SCD types.
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools
  • Write optimized SQL queries and data models to support analytical and reporting needs and handle snowflake costs.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across data pipelines and reports
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline failures and performance bottlenecks
  • Document data flows, data dictionaries, and reporting logic
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for BI engineering.
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on data or BI and SQL basics and advanced level with hands on query optimizations.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (query optimization, complex joins, window functions)
  • Hands-on experience with at least one ETL/ELT design approach (e.g., dbt, Apache Airflow, MSBI, Talend, or Informatica).
  • Experience with a cloud data warehouse (Big Query, Redshift, or Azure Synapse)
  • Proficiency in Python or Scala for data processing and automation
  • Experience with BI/visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI Looker, or similar).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.
  • Understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schema).
  • Power BI – Experience building interactive dashboards, reports, and data models in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data gateways)
  • Snowflake – Hands-on experience with Snowflake including data sharing, virtual warehouses, build workflow with ETL/ELT & performance tuning, clustering, pruning the data.
  • Exposure to real-time/streaming data processing (Kafka, Debezium, Spark Streaming)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Knowledge of data governance and data catalog tools
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-driven with an ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Collaborative team player with a detail-oriented approach
  • Should be adaptable to learning mindset.
