Financial Projects & Tax Manager

Description

To lead the strategic insourcing of the tax function and drive critical financial transformation projects. This is a high-visibility leadership role designed for a commercially minded finance professional capable of stepping outside of functional work and partnering with the business.

Responsibilities
  • Establish In-House Capabilities: Lead the transition of tax activities from external advisors to an internal function, ensuring a seamless handover and immediate cost/process optimization.
  • Compliance & Risk: maintain full oversight of local and international tax laws, ensuring 100% compliance across corporate tax, VAT, and regulatory filings.
  • Optimization: Go beyond reporting to proactively manage tax planning strategies that minimize liabilities and optimize the company’s cash flow and financial performance.
  • Audit Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for tax authorities and external auditors, managing inquiries and defending the company’s position during inspections.
  • Advisory: Provide high-level guidance on complex matters including Transfer Pricing and cross-border transactions.
  • Lead the technical implementation of major regulatory changes (e.g., KSEF, JPK), ensuring systems and processes are future-proofed.
  • Drive local implementation of Group-level transformation solutions and efficiency projects
  • Act as the key finance stakeholder in ERP optimizations (MS Dynamics) to ensure tax and reporting requirements are automated and integrated.
  • Support country management (marketing / commercial) by analyzing the tax and financial implications of new business initiatives or changes to the legislative landscape. This will include scenario planning.
Requirements
  • Has a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; CPA or equivalent is required
  • Has minimum 8+ years of experience in Finance, with strong foundation in Tax
  • Has a good understanding of IFRS, local accounting standards, and tax legislation.
  • Ability to operate at a strategic level (influencing stakeholders) while retaining a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects from conception to delivery
  • Excellent command of English with the ability to translate complex financial/tax concepts into commercial language for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Change management experience
  • Proficient in use of excel and ERP systems ( MS Dynamics preferred)
