Senior Level Designer
LightSpeed Japan Studio is a game development studio dedicated to crafting original AAA action game titles for global audiences. Led by industry veteran Hideaki Itsuno, the studio operates across two locations in Tokyo and Osaka.

- Design and construct in-game level designs
Design in-game play spaces, including stage structure, enemy placement, gimmicks, guidance, and exploration elements, to create player experiences.
- Design difficulty curves and progression
Adjust stage composition to allow players to naturally improve their skills, considering the changes in difficulty and learning curves from the early to late stages of the game.
- Ensure consistency with narrative and systems
Design seamless level experiences that are consistent with story progression and game systems.
- Playtesting and level tuning
Continuously verify and improve the fun of level composition, clarity of guidance, and pacing through user testing and development play.
- Map creation and implementation using tools
Create and place actual maps using in-engine tools and level editors, and be responsible for implementing specifications.
- Practical experience in level design for console and PC games
- Spatial composition skills and stage design skills that consider player experience
- Tuning ability based on playtesting (pacing, difficulty, guidance, etc.)
- Experience in level creation using game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, etc.)
- Ability to create and explain specifications for collaboration with development teams
- Perspective for level construction that considers collaboration with other systems such as combat, growth, and exploration
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in spatial design for 3D action games
- Experience in constructing event direction using scripts and triggers
- Cinematic level design utilizing knowledge of cameras and direction
- Experience in joint development with multinational teams

Salary
Annual salary: Negotiable (Salary increases/Bonuses available)
*Will be compensated based on experience, skills, etc., in accordance with our company regulations.
*For general employees, includes fixed overtime pay for 35 hours per month.
*For management positions, includes fixed overtime pay for 10 hours.
Working Hours and Holidays
Working Hours: 09:30 ~ 18:30 Break Time: 60 minutes
Flextime available
Complete two-day weekend system (Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays)
Paid Leave: In the first year of employment, granted on a pro-rata basis depending on the month of joining. Up to 22 days based on years of service.
New Year's Holiday (12/30 - 1/3)
Sick Leave (Paid): 12 days/year (granted separately from paid leave)
